and then, i move on...

a lot of things happen in this world that are beyond our control. whether it's good or bad, we all have no choice but to accept them. however, it may lead us to a downward spiral of depression & agony or to a new window of opportunity, the path that we choose would be the seed for our next adventure in life so we should choose wisely.

recently i have come across another hurdle in life. my old company had to let go of a lot of employees because they were moving fast forward, unfortunately they decided to leave a few men behind. people often said that this company was very stable because it is one of the biggest here in singapore, but i guess the size of the company doesn't really matter when it comes to the big "R". it was so disturbing at that time to see people disappear one by one and then later come back with a box to put their things in or to come back from a holiday and see that one of your colleagues has already left a day or two before without even saying goodbye. sad as it may seem, i saw it in a brighter perspective, i chose to see it as a window of opportunity.

today, i got my new spass. my pass was processed on the same day that my previous employer cancelled my old spass & was approved within 24hrs. it was quite easy for me this time around compared to my first application 1.5 yrs ago. i had to stay jobless in singapore for 3 months, constantly buying newspapers and applying online and had to wait for 2 weeks before my pass was approved. but it all worked out well for me. i am still very thankful to my previous company where i gained the experience and the friends (my special thanks to christie, the kindest and sincerest person you'll ever meet) who helped me & my pinoy friends to move on.

so in the end it still boils down to  my favorite mantra "all things happen for a reason." what seems to be a very bad or sad thing, may turn out to be the start of something big for you. just try to look at the bigger picture, have confidence in yourself, always trust in God, and then move on.
